…Apply for a Library Card

How to apply for a Library Card

Residents and tax-paying non-residents of the North Babylon School District are entitled to a library card. Adult patrons must present two forms of ID with name and address as proof of residency in the North Babylon School District at the time of application.
Examples of valid ID include:
Driver’s License, utility bill, vehicle registration, deed or lease, tax bill, recent mail ( only one is acceptable) check book, or voter registration card.  Parents/guardians who would like to apply for a card for their children must present the same ID requirements OR present their own, valid library card as proof of residency. Library cards expire every three years.

An Adult card, which provides full access (except video/DVD) to the Library’s collection, will be issued to patrons 12 and over.
Parents who wish to restrict their minor children to materials in the Children’s room must contact the Library in writing to request a Juvenile card.  Materials in the adult collection may not be borrowed with a Juvenile card.

Patrons who work in the North Babylon Public Library district, but do not reside in Suffolk County, may apply for a local use only Library card. Patrons must show proof of residency and work i.d.(paystub, work tags). Any questions please contact the Circulation Desk, 669-4020.
