About Our Library

The North Babylon Public Library opens new horizons for all its residents.  Our collection includes the latest DVDs, music CDs,  bestselling non-fiction and fiction books (regular and  large print), books on tape and books on CD, magazines, newspapers and much more.  The Library has specialized collections for Education, Job Information and English as a Second Language/Literacy.  Most of our materials can be checked out of the Library (excluding Reference, newspapers and new edition magazines).  The Library has access to downloadable books, movies and music through the Library’s homepage.  Visit How to Download Books for more information.
Patrons have access to various online research databases through the Library’s homepage.  The databases include test preparation, magazines, business resources encyclopedias and more.  These resources are available 24/7.  Visit the Research/Databases section for a complete listing and description.
The Library publishes a bimonthly newsletter announcing our upcoming programs. Newsletters are mailed to all residents of the North Babylon School district.  Programming varies at different times of the year.  Programs include: exercise, movies, craft classes, career counseling, defensive driving, GED preparation, tax assistance, story times, summer reading clubs and musical performances.  Programs range in age level from infants to seniors. Pick up a copy of a newsletter at the Circulation desk or visit our website for an online News and Notes.  Most of our programs require advanced registration.  Programs can be registered for by phone, online (except programs with a fee) and of course in-person.

Family museum passes are available for checkout by North Babylon Public Library cardholders 18 years and older. Reservations may be placed by phone, in person at the Reference Desk, or online. Visit How to Reserve a Museum Pass for more information.
The Library offers a free books-by-mail service to residents of North Babylon who are homebound and unable to use the Library due to illness or disability. All postage is pre-paid by the Library. Please contact the Reference Desk for further information.
