Monthly Book Discussions
The Library offers patrons the opportunity to participate in either a morning or evening book discussion. All are welcome to gather and converse about the selected book of the month. Join one of our lively book discussion groups and share your love of reading with others!

Career Counselor
Meet with a professional Career Counselor for help with resumes and career options, all ages. Appointments are available the first Monday(evenings) and the third Saturday(mornings) of the month. Call 669-4020 to schedule an appointment.

GRASP/HSE Home Study
This FREE program is designed to meet the needs of adults, 21 and over, who would like to prepare for the high school equivalency test., but are unable to attend classes on a regular basis.  Individual assignments, to be completed at home, are developed by certified instructors and delivered as packets to the Library.  Students pick up their own packets. Check the Library’s newsletter for the next scheduled class.  Classes are usually offered 3 to 4 times a year in the evening.

Knitting Club
Welcomes all beginning to advanced knitters. Newcomers please bring one ball of smooth middle weight yarn and a pair of #8 knitting needles. See the Library’s newsletter for the next scheduled class.

One-On-One Medicare Counseling and Assistance
Meet individually with an RSVP Suffolk volunteer from the Health Insurance Information, Counseling & Assistance Program to get information about Medicare health insurance and benefits.
Call the Reference Desk at 631-669-4020 to schedule an appointment. Half-hour appointments are available monthly.

Reserve-a-Librarian Training
Do you need basic computer help or help with your E-reader? One-on-one training is available by appointment. Training is available to learn how to check out e-books from the library, use our databases
or online catalog, and more.
This service is for North Babylon cardholders only.

Social Work Intern
The Library offers a free service to patrons through the Social Work Intern Program at the Stony Brook University School of Social Welfare. Patrons will receive one-on-one assistance completing forms/applications, referrals to mental health resources and other topics. No registration necessary.  Half hour appointments are available on a first come-first served basis.  This program will return in the Fall of 2020.
