March/April Program Registration

  March/April program registration is underway.Young adult programs are open to students, grades 6-12 with a North Babylon Public Library card. Visit Newsletter on the top menu for a complete listing of our upcoming programs. Patrons can register online or in-person. Programs with a fee must be registered for in-person. All fees are non-refundable.
Children’s program registration begins March 2nd and April 1st. Children’s programs are limited to North Babylon cardholders only. Please contact the Library(631-669-4020), for any additional information regarding programs.

**New**Flipster

Patrons now have access to free magazines that are available in an easy to read digital format. Patrons can view the magazines on a computer or tablet using their library card. Magazines include: Car and Driver, People, Prevention and Time. Over 30 magazines are available to read online (current and back issues). AAPR Foundation Tax-Aide offers free tax help to low-to-moderate income taxpayers, especially those 60 and older. Call the library at 631-669-4020 to make an appointment.

Please note, AARP volunteers CANNOT prepare the following:
•Schedule C (Business Profit and Loss) if a loss or expenses exceed $10,000

•Complicated Schedule D without proper paperwork (Capital Gains and Losses)
•Schedule E (Rental Property) with expenses, including depreciation (exception: returns for military members only, prepared by a counselor who hasbeen certified to do military returns provided another military certified counselor is available to quality review the return)
•Schedule F (Farm Income)
•2106 (Employee Business Expenses)
•3903 (Moving Expenses)
•8615 (Minor’s Investment Income)
•Portions of Schedules A and B that are not included in our training
•Schedule K-1 that involves depreciation or deductible expenses
•Other rental income or business income

**New**Hoopla

hoopla2Hoopla is a new service that allows North Babylon Library cardholders access to thousands of movies, television, music, and audiobook titles. All you need is a current NB library card and a web browser, phone, or tablet. The Hoopla web site and mobile apps are easy to use. Start streaming immediately, or download a title to your phone or tablet for offline viewing later. Items return automatically so there are never any late fees. Each patron may checkout 7 titles a month. Movie/television selections viewed on a computer/laptop require a one-time software download.
